FoxTalk Founder Andy Green to Lead Colorado Press Association Roundtable at Local News Solutions 2026

AURORA, Colo., Aug. 27, 2026 — The Colorado Press Association, one of Colorado’s most prominent professional journalism organizations, has confirmed FoxTalk founder Andy Green as a roundtable facilitator at Local News Solutions 2026,

The session, “Student Newsrooms and Editorial Independence: Lessons From FoxTalk,” will run from 9:30 to 10:35 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Delta Hotels Denver Thornton. Green will facilitate two back-to-back conversations examining what happens when a new student newsroom begins ambitious public-interest reporting before all of its institutional ground rules are settled.

The roundtable will use FoxTalk as a case study in how student journalists can build credibility, establish newsroom structure, navigate pressure from host institutions and find allies when the work becomes complicated.

“Community college students are living many of the biggest stories in Colorado, from the cost of education and the workforce to elections, technology and housing, but their voices are still too often missing from mainstream coverage,” Andy Green, Founder of FoxTalk said. “FoxTalk is trying to change that by putting community college students in the room, asking the questions they would ask and building a newsroom that treats their perspective as part of the larger public conversation.”

Green founded FoxTalk in spring 2026 at the Community College of Aurora. In its first five months, the student-edited newsroom published nearly 60 original pieces spanning politics, business, technology, film, culture and student life, conducted sit-down video interviews with some of Colorado’s top political and business leaders, and drew more than 15,000 views across platforms. FoxTalk has also begun building distribution relationships with other Colorado student newsrooms while expanding its reporting on statewide and national stories through a community-college lens.

Local News Solutions brings together a broad cross-section of Colorado’s media ecosystem. Event materials list more than 300 people, 128 organizations, 80 speakers, facilitators and contributors, and 89 sessions and conversations across the three-day gathering.

Green’s roundtable is part of Friday’s program of working sessions, peer conversations and discussions on reporting, public records, audience, revenue, artificial intelligence, safety, philanthropy, civic life and storytelling.
