CCA is not small. It is No. 4.
Community College of Aurora does not sit in the middle of Colorado’s community college pack.
In Fall 2024 federal enrollment data, CCA ranked No. 4 out of 15 Colorado public community and local district colleges, with 8,833 students.
That puts CCA ahead of Aims Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Community College of Denver and Pueblo Community College.
The ranking cuts against the idea that CCA is just a local Aurora campus quietly sitting off CentreTech Parkway. By student count, CCA is one of the largest community colleges in Colorado.
The only colleges above it were Front Range Community College, Arapahoe Community College and Pikes Peak State College.
That is the first surprise in the data: CCA is not chasing the whole field. Most of the field is behind CCA.
