**AURORA, Colo., Oct. 18, 2026** — FoxTalk will host a free, virtual student press interview with Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for Colorado governor, on **Wednesday, Oct. 21, from noon to 12:20 p.m. Mountain Time**. The 20-minute interview will be on the record and open to college student journalists from across Colorado, not the general public.

Marx's campaign confirmed his participation this weekend, leaving FoxTalk just a few days to invite student newsrooms before the event. The interview will be **virtual only**, audio-recorded and not publicly livestreamed.

The governor's race carries unusual stakes. Colorado has not had a Republican governor since Bill Owens left office in 2007\. Colorado Public Radio [describes Democratic nominee Phil Weiser as heavily favored](https://www.cpr.org/podcast-episode/marx-weiser-governors-race/?ref=readfoxtalk.com), making a Marx victory a major political upset.

Marx has also been selective about live media interviews. Since the June 30 primary, FoxTalk has independently verified live, spoken interviews with **only four Colorado news outlets**. That is the number FoxTalk could verify publicly, not a claim that no other outlets received interviews.

Marx entered the race with a substantial online audience. [Colorado Public Radio reported](https://www.cpr.org/2026/09/25/vg-2026-victor-marx-voter-guide/?ref=readfoxtalk.com) that he had close to **3 million followers across social-media platforms combined**.

The student press interview gives campus journalists an opportunity to ask about issues affecting young Coloradans, including housing costs, college borrowing, career training and jobs. Questions could also address Marx's stated proposals involving government agency audits, skilled-trades education and housing regulations. **Selected journalists actively affiliated with campus newsrooms will ask their own questions**; FoxTalk will moderate for time and order.

Students do **not** need to be affiliated with a campus newsroom to attend and listen, and **reporting is not required** for general attendance. Newsrooms whose journalists receive live question slots are asked to publish an article by **Friday, Oct. 23**. Other attendees are free to listen without writing or publishing a story.

**Registration is free but required.** It closes **Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m. Mountain Time**. Attendance is limited to **300 total virtual participants.** Eligible journalists will be confirmed in registration order up to available capacity. Additional registrants will be waitlisted and sent the transcript and audio recording afterward.

FoxTalk plans to publish the interview transcript Wednesday, Oct. 21, and the audio recording Thursday, Oct. 22, following accuracy and production checks.
